Here at Northwest Broward Orthopaedics we offer physician supervised physical therapy. Our skilled therapists are Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) who are experts at treating functional impairments of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The main goal of our physical therapy department is to improve the patient’s independence and get them back to their previous level of function.

At Northwest Broward Orthopaedics we have a unique advantage, in that our physical therapists work in conjunction with the orthopedic surgeons to create a team plan of care that leads to superior patient outcomes. The therapists and physicians meet on a regular schedule to review each individual patient’s progress. Physical Therapy intervention can give the patient the best opportunity to heal properly with conservative treatment.

We also include physical therapy as an important treatment for patients after surgery to achieve full recovery.  Therapy is commonly recommended for the following conditions: arthroscopic surgery of the knee or shoulder, sports injuries, such as strains and sprains, arthritic conditions and postural issues, and acute and chronic repetitive injuries. Our therapy department is extremely successful in helping patients achieve a rapid and vigorous recovery with the proper combination of supervised strengthening exercises, manual therapy techniques, stretching, massage, joint mobilizations, and advanced therapeutic modalities.
